What Did You Do in The War, Daddy?
Confessions of a sort of a conscientious objector 1960-1969

Harlandale High School, San Antonio, Texas,1961.  Nguyin-Thomh-Canh, South Vietnamese fighter pilot in training at Lackland Air Force Base, with Larry L. Dill, his escort for the weekend.  Canh was very polite, spoke very little English and smoked very strong French cigarettes.  The photo was taken by the writer's mother, Marie Dill, with the pilot's camera.  He later sent them a signed copy of the snapshot.  It all seemed so very simple back then.
