| The Modern Monk's Dilemma
for Karen Mayo Put something in this note besides your grief. Talk about the way you spell relief. Talk about the freedom of freedom. Muse about your opportunity. Laugh about the way you and God stay in your separate rooms all day and won't speak to each other like two cranky old codgers. You drip coffee grounds across the floor and he leaves his cigarette butts everywhere, annoying the hell out of each other. If he won't talk to you who cares. Leave this note lying carelessly on the stairs. --1981 Back to the Index of the Last Sunday Night In the Twentieth Century Complete Index of The Poetry Project Complete Site Index Home larrydill@newhopejournal.com www.newhopejournal.com copyright 2007 by Larry L.
